To honestly say,

no one ever knows.

We never factor in the .001 percent

To be sure, is understanding that, that percent will never be thought of until you think of it.

But when do we think of it?

It amazing how much you learn from one person in one night of reacquainting. I wish i could have taken notes, there is still so much to be brought out in perspective.
Used MyPaint for everything,
played some brushes,
and ended up with this.

Kinda of a sad day to say the least,
Lets hope this new year kicks ass

To be honest, I feel a real deep pain in my heart when I look at this. Reading the explanation intensified it. The idea of reaquainting with people is hard for me. I havn't spoken to my friends from the past. If I try to speak to relatives, it turns out bad. So, my personal bias makes me look at this negatively. Not that the work itself isn't good, but that I get negative emotions from it. I'm sure everyone else will have their own reactions to it, perhaps not to the same degree as mine. If your intent was to stirr an emotion, consider that a good thing.

Part of what gives me that vibe is the color scheme. It's monochromatic red, meaning red is the only color used. It's a strong color, which makes it very intense-especially if it's the only color in the picture.

Textures also play a role in evoking the atmosphere. Within the red shape are abstract cloud figures. They're forbodding like storm clouds. Plus, the fact that they're abstract also means that they're unrecognizable. A factor of something that is unpleasent, occasionaly includes something that is unfamiliar. Adding to the unfamiliarity is the overall shape of the floating black mass. It's furry on the outside, but has clouds on the inside. It doesn't make sense. It's unfamiliar.

Also adding to the vibe is the composition. The black mass and the figure put weight on the left side of the image. This leaves the left side as full of negative space. Feeling unbalanced adds to uneasyness. With all that being said, this image is hard for me to look at. It's up to you to decide whether or not that's a good thing.
